"Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools." - Romans 1:22
________
Over-intellectualizing will defeat the purpose of faith in God.
Science has it's purpose and it's use, but it's purpose isn't to explain God...
Science has it's purpose and it's use, but it's purpose isn't to explain God...
Just as a hammer isn't a screwdriver; You cannot hammer a nail with a screwdriver, or turn a screw with a hammer. It simply isn't the correct tool to do the job correctly.
So it is with science and religion; one pertains to the physical, and one pertains to the spiritual.
Spirit cannot be held in the human hand and studied; spirit cannot be placed under a microscope to be analyzed.
Science and religion are both tools that can benefit the mechanism of human experience, each has it's place and each has it's function, but one does not replace or supercede the other. Both allowed to perform their respective function is an agreeable dichotomy. One does not cancel out the other.
Science cannot create morality in a lab...morality is a matter of the spirit. Science and intellect cannot define or explain or create spirit, yet it exists within each of us.
Scientists can remove a brain from a body, dissect it, even analyze it...but they cannot match it's complexities, nor can they put the dissected brain back into the empty skull and wake up the deceased patient. Scientific and intellectual analysis has it's place but can only go so far. It cannot comprehend nor recreate matters of a spiritual nature. Therefore there is more than meets the eye when it comes to matters of the human spirit, and of God. While science can study and offer some understanding of the human body, the shell of the human spirit, science and intellect does not offer all the answers when it comes to every aspect of human life, namely the spirit and the soul. Therefore science is not the tool designed to analyze faith in God, morality, psyche, soul, or spirit.
Discussions and debates about how big the universe is, or how it came into existence are an example…none of us can prove it to another beyond a doubt, and ultimately, when the discussion is over, the universe still exists, just as it had before the discussion. Nothing changed it. No amount of arguing or debating changed the fact that there is still a sky above us, and no one knows where it came from. Yet it is real. It exists. No one can explain it, it just is.
Some things are unexplainable, yet fact. So it is with God.
The next time you see a baby born, or a sunset, or the wonders of nature, don’t take it for granted. These things exist, but how do they exist? Did we, mankind, create them? The answer is no, of course. But things do not burst into existence by themselves, do they? No, science can quote the second law of thermodynamics, or the Law of Entropy, which in itself contradicts such occurences, and even stands directly opposed to common beliefs in the theory of evolution. Where did all this come from? Not from us…and when we finally accept there is more than we can know in the natural realm, then we can begin to seek and discover that which is beyond our natural understanding….and nothing natural can explain that which is supernatural. That is the stuff of faith…supernatural faith in something beyond our senses…it is there, but we cannot hold it in our hand…it exists, but we cannot explain it…we are more than bodies…what gives us our essence? Our thoughts? Our feelings, our dreams, our emotions?
It is as a camera that captures an image, but the image is not the full reality...it only reveals a small part of it. Likewise, turning the camera by a small degree captures a differing view of the same reality...People are imperfect, and all have a different angle on our view of reality. Controversies, contradicting views are inevitable, but ultimately meaningless. As far as Christianity, such controversies are a distraction. The only thing that matters is: Is Jesus Christ really who he claimed he was, and our own choice to either accept or reject his claims. All other speculations and debates are an over-analysis and missing the point.
God exists.
He speaks to His creation daily. The glories of visible nature scream to us, “I AM!”
Yet we blindly focus on our tiny reasonings and foolish arguments. God came to us in the form of a man, one of us…He told us plainly, “I AM!”
Yet we still debate and conjecture and argue and doubt and fail to hear His voice.
The human eye, the human heart, the complexities of all the millions or billions of creatures in creation, stagger our understanding….God whispers in our ear, “I AM!”
And we are deaf to Him.
We need to listen.
He calls to us as He has called to us from the beginning of our existence…some are able to accept and hear His voice, and to begin to know Him…

If we were created by God, or whatever you choose to call the creator of the universe, why would we ignore Him? Why wouldn’t we want to know Him?
God says to you even now, "I AM."
Listen to Him.
"Behold, I AM coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.
I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."
- Revelation 22:12-13
Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
- Psalm 100:3
- Psalm 100:3
"I AM the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
- John 10:11
- John 10:11
"I AM the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me--"
- John 10:14
- John 10:14
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one."
- John 10:27-30
- John 10:27-30
For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice,
- Psalm 95:7
- Psalm 95:7
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."
- Isaiah 1:18
- Isaiah 1:18
Behold, the LORD'S hand is not so short that it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.
- Isaiah 59:1-2

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
- Romans 3:23
- Romans 3:23
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
- Romans 5:8
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Romans 6:23
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- 1 Corinthians 1:18
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
- 1 Corinthians 1:21
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.
- Romans 1:18-22
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
- Isaiah 55:8-9
"For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
- 1 Corinthians 2:16
